To provide a better user experience and a wider range of integrated services for our email service, 

the university email system will be changed to Google system starting with new students enrolled in the 2026 academic year (undergraduate and graduate).



[2026 Academic Year - How to Apply for a Mail Account & Important Notes]


1. How to apply for a mail account

  a. Applications can be submitted 1 day after your Portal ID has been created.

  b. Apply via: Portal Login → [Mail] → [Initial Register] below [Gmail]

  c. Your Mail ID will be the same as your Portal ID.

  d. It is recommended that you set a password different from your Portal password, 

     and two-factor authentication setup is required.


2. Application Period: From March 2, 2026


3. Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Korea University in the 2026 academic year


4. Service Details

 a) A Google Mail account with a Korea University domain (@korea.ac.kr) will be provided.

 b) 20GB of integrated storage for Google Mail and Drive will be provided.


5. Important Notes

 a) Undergraduate/graduate alumni who already have a university email account
    and are newly enrolling in a graduate program
(Master's/Doctoral) must sign up for a new Google Mail account, 

    and migrate their existing data from Naver Works. 

    (Further details will be provided separately.)

 b) Setting up two-step verification is mandatory when creating a Google Mail account.

 c) The service details described above are subject to change in accordance with the terms of the
    subion-based service 
contract.

※ Current enrolled students may continue to use the Naver Works mail system until August 2027, with a planned transition to Google Mail beginning in the second half of 2026.
